Carole L. McLaren, D.V.M.

Carole L. McLaren, D.V.M.

Dr. McLaren joined Mentor Animal Hospital as an associate veterinarian in 2000.  Dr. McLaren has special interest in feline medicine and small mammals such as rabbits, guinea pigs, and chinchillas.  She offers her services to the Lake County Humane Society, spaying and neutering their rabbits and fostering many orphaned kittens.  She also volunteers at Herps Alive Foundation, a reptile rescue and education center in South Euclid, and plans to add reptile and amphibian services at Mentor Animal Hospital soon.  In her spare time she is an enthusiastic gardener and orchid grower.

Dr. McLaren shares her home with her husband Thomas, 8 cats, 6 degus, 3 snakes, a frog, tropical fish, and a never-ending rotation of foster kittens.

Dr. McLaren received her Doctor of Veterinary Medicine, with the distinction of summa cum laude, from The Ohio State University in 1993, after receiving her Bachelor of Arts, with Honors, in Biology from the College of Wooster in 1989. 

Katherine M. Hornick, D.V.M.

Katherine M. Hornick, D.V.M.

Dr. Hornick joined Mentor Animal Hospital as an associate veterinarian in 2004.  Previously, she worked as a veterinarian at the Garrettsville Animal Hospital.  She is a member in good standing of the Ohio Veterinary Medical Association, the American Veterinary Medical Association, and the OSU Veterinary Alumni Society.  She is also a member of the American Pointer Club, the Border Terrier Club of America, the Ohio Hall of Fame Pointer Club, and the Border Terrier Club of Central Ohio.  She is an active competitor in American Kennel Club conformation, hunt tests, and Earthdog events with her Pointers and Border Terriers.

Dr. Hornick received her Doctor of Veterinary Medicine from The Ohio State University in 2003, after receiving her Bachelor of Arts in Biology from Hiram College in 1996.
